Sowmya graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Podiatry. With a strong interest in Diabetes High-Risk Foot care, she is passionate about helping patients manage and prevent complications associated with diabetes. Sowmya splits her clinical time between the Auckland Diabetes Centre, private practice at Footprint Podiatry, and servicing several Retirement Villages, ensuring that her care reaches patients in all stages of life.

Fluent in English, Telugu, and Hindi, Sowmya can communicate clearly with diverse patients, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and understood. In addition to her work with diabetic patients, Sowmya provides a wide range of podiatry services, including minor surgeries, wound care, and general podiatric treatments.
